Swept Away

I was planning to write “A Tale of Two Cities, Part II” and talk about how much better the city of Boston is compared to Denver. I could have taken some cheap shots about the quality of fans in New England and the fair-weathered bandwagon jumpers in Colorado, but I would just be preaching to the choir.

I have never felt so confident that the Red Sox are going to win the World Series as I do right now. Boston has big-game pitchers, clutch hitting, and more playoff experience than the Rockies. I don’t mean to insult both of Colorado’s season ticket holders, but these are the facts.

It’s not just the Rockies that the Sox would pound, it’s every team in the National League. The NL sucks. The best teams in the NL would be lucky to make the playoffs in the American League. But I guess Colorado already got lucky once and were able to back into the playoffs thanks to a stupid tie breaker. And I don’t want to hear about the Rockies winning 21 out of their last 22 games. Who cares? This just proves that they are the best out of all the mediocre teams. Now that is truly a great accomplishment. Rockie fans, be proud. You made the World Series. Unfortunately for you, there are only four games left in your season. Boston is going to sweep!

Check back tomorrow for the World Series breakdown of both teams.

Sox are coming off of a dramatic win at home, two of them. They’ll keep the momentum going tonight, win game one. Game two, same story, too much energy in Boston for Colorado to win. Game two to the sox. Game three and four, the Rockies are coming off the high of winning 21 out of 22, after being shocked by losing game’s one and two, they can’t muster the will power to beat a red sox team that has world series sweep in their eyes, games three and four, and the series sweep to the sox. And, of course, it’s an NL team. The Devil Rays could win this series against the Rockies. -Dylan

Why any of our New england teams would beat the Colorado Rockies. It just goes to show you the dominance of New england sports.
I would put the number two ranked BC eagles against the rockies, but it wouldn’t be fair Matt Ryan would single handedly take them down, Oh how about the 7-0 Patriots with Tom Brady and Randy Moss connection.Thats just not even fair.
Maybe the Celtic Pride the “green machine” still haven’t started the season but Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce that still looks like a sweep.
Alright maybe there would be a game between the Rockies and the Bruins, But no there wouldn’t because the Big Bad Bruins won the 5 of the last 7 and still hockey players are the toughest athletes in the world and would just kick the S#$% out of all the rockies. One Rockie for example Matt holliday that can’t even slide home correctly.
Come to New england for the chowda and The Lobsta. But don’t come to take on our teams because you will just be embarised. The best place on earth New england.

UNH’s division II football powerhouse would take down the Rockies, The New England Revolution when thay had Alexi Lala’s or whatever his name was, would take down the rockies, The Nantuket Nectar’s Juice Guys would most cetainly F’ up the Rockies. Point I’m making, New England is awesome, I do agree, and when it comes to Sports, the story ends with The Rockies being swept.

I couldn’t agree more with your assessment. Colorado is overrated and undermatched. I don’t care that they won 2 out of 3 at Fenway this year. The World Series is a completely different atmosphere. Thanks for commenting, I always appreciate A New Englanders perspective. Do you still live up there?

Dave once upon a time, A time when The sox were Mediocre, The Pats just plainly sucked. But like the song says “Boston your my Home” Now that Boston is a mecca for team sport dominance. We can enjoy there triumphs from a far. Rockies took 2 out of 3 from Boston in the REGULAR season. The playoffs are a completely different animal. An animal I would Like to call The WICKED GREEN MONSTER. The Rockies have not experienced this animal and I feel bad for the Lashing they will endure tonight.
